Mosquito Control & Identification Guide
Mosquitoes are common, flying insects that live in most parts of the world. When a mosquito bites a person, common reactions to the bite are itching and swelling
Bug-Go Pest Control provides professional mosquito control solutions designed to eliminate these pests and the diseases they can bring.
Pest Identification
Identify a mosquito by:
- It’s slender body (1/8” to 3/9” long)
- Six long legs
- A single pair of wings with scales
- A long, needle-like mouthpart for feeding
- A slow, hovering flight, often accompanied by a high-pitched humming noise
Signs of an Infestation
- Increased Daytime Sightings: While mosquitoes are often active at dusk, finding them in dark closets, under sinks, or resting on dark clothing during the day indicates a high population.
- Persistent Buzzing: The high-pitched sound of wings, often heard around your ears at night, is a common sign.
- Sudden Increase in Bites: Multiple, unexplained red, itchy, and sometimes swollen bites, especially when waking up.
- Breeding Sites in/around Home: Mosquito larvae (small wrigglers) or pupae found in stagnant water. Check potted plant trays, vases, pet water bowls, and even water trapped in old toys.
